Valuing Stewardship: Conservation & Restoration by Rural Producers

Floresta & Carbono bridges ecology and economy. We turn forest conservation and restoration into sustainable opportunities for rural producers through the carbon market.

Our model incentivizes sustainable land stewardship and farming practices, directly rewarding rural producers for the vital environmental services they provide through forest conservation and restoration as well as biodiversity protection.

VALUE GENERATION FOR THOSE WHO CONSERVE FORESTS

carbon credits that convert standing forests into income for rural producers

Our Purpose

Channeling market-based incentives to the local level, by makings forest conservation and sustainable farming practices a viable and profitable pillar of rural livelihoods.

Our Projects

Currently, Floresta & Carbono has forest carbon projects in the Atlantic Forest and Cerrado biomes.

Atlantic Forest

Cerrado

We promote the valorization of RURAL PRODUCERS through payment for environmental services using forest carbon credits.

We connect rural producers with the carbon market, promoting sustainable rural development by fairly recognizing and compensating rural producers for the environmental services they provide.

How do the projects work and how are rural producers compensated?

The rural property is continuously monitored by remote sensing, providing transparency and reliability to the process.

Payment for Environmental Services

The farmer is compensated annually through Payment for Environmental Services (PES) for the forest carbon stored on their property.

Generating carbon credits

Once these forests are included in the project, the sequestered carbon is measured and converted into carbon credits, which are internationally certified and traded.

Environmental diagnosis

Based on an environmental assessment of the rural property, we estimate the carbon sequestration potential of the native forests eligible for the project.
